Leadership

Pastor Travis & Sister Amber Worthington

Lead Pastor

Travis and Amber Worthington  have been the Founding Pastor for the last 11 years at Nova Church in the Washington DC Metro area. Travis and Amber met in St. Petersburg, FL where they served in various roles in the local church ranging from Youth Pastor to Associate Pastor.

The call to move to Northern Virginia and plant a thriving work that would impact people in the DC Metro area quickly came to fruition about a year after they were married. Travis served 6 years as Youth President of the Virginia District. Currently, he serves as the National Hyphen Director for the United Pentecostal Church Youth Ministries.

They are incredibly passionate about their family and just celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary. Their awesome children, Mia and Cam, are the highlights of everyday. Travis is an avid reader, Uno player, coffee connoisseur and pizza rater. Amber loves to play soccer with the kids, try new foods, listen to audio books and enjoys her newfound passion of playing the board game Risk.

Their hearts beat for people and seeing Jesus make personal transformations.

Pastor Tim & Sister Heather Ruck

Connections Pastor

Tim came to Nova Church in 2014; Heather joined in 2017. Serving in both music and small group ministries, Tim and Heather got to enjoy each other’s company and saw how their contrasting personalities brought balance to each other. Long story short, they were happily married in 2020 and have been honored to continue serving the Nova Church family.

Tim and Heather love getting to know people, getting them connected to the church body, and most importantly, helping others cultivate a stronger connection with Jesus. If you are looking to get plugged-in with Nova Church, our Connections Pastors would love to talk with you!

Pastor Jaimee Smith

Student Pastor

Jaimee first came to Nova Church in 2013 and served in various ministries before officially becoming the student pastor. She grew up in Huntington, WV where she served her local church in many different capacities from teaching Sunday School, to puppet ministry, to preaching youth services.

Jaimee first moved to the Northern Virginia area while pursuing her master’s degree in history and quickly fell in love with the area. When Jaimee isn’t busy teaching Bible studies or discipling students, you can find her hiking through battlefields with her dog, perusing bookstores, and exploring museums around the DC Metro area. (She’d love nothing more than for you to tag along!)

Jaimee is passionate about encouraging, edifying, and equipping the next generation in discovering their God-given identity and living their purpose now.
